There was a time you could not give a house away in Elliot Lake , they were all boarded up. CMHC mortgages ran from $89 dollars a month and could be from $4,000 to $10,000 dollars in all . Bill Brown had homes whereas the price was $100 Dollars down and take over the mortgage.
The mines handed over homes to Active living for about $4,000 Dollars I believe , and they were remarketed from $15,000 to $24,000
The idea was to repopulate Elliot Lake and it worked
