Hi, We keep seeing a posting in our local paper for a Discovery Tour of Elliot Lake, & it mentions you get 1 night free at the local hotel if you book a 2nd night for $30. So here's my questions - how much of one's time is taken up by looking at the retirement properties, the 'info session', the City Tour, etc? Are you given sufficient time to explore on your own, if you're only there for 2 or 2.5 days? We are only 50, but already planning for our early retirement, & want to see what the area offers....but we don't want to spend hours & hours in mandated tours/sessions etc. Some is fine, of course, for the deal at the hotel, but we don't want every minute taken up with hard sells etc. Anyone have any experience with this, that they can comment on? Also - does the town have a movie theatre and a bowling alley? Is there any other way (ie train etc) to get there, as opposed to just driving? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
